Default Tidewater Orchid Society

As the newest(6Mo in) and YOUNGEST member to the Tidewater orchid society, I was very pleased when asked to assist with an orchid transfer form society member Dr. Arthur S. Kaplan. He was transferring (donating) his entire collection to Old Dominion University in Norfolk VA. The collection was approx 1000 plants( Mainly species) worth around $1 million . ODU built a massive conservatory (greenhouse) for the collection to broaden their diverse botany dept. The transfer took place on 8/19/2007 without a hitch or any damaged plants from the generous contribution of myself and 30~40 other society members! Just had to pass this on and If desired here is a link for more info.
