Default How to get Pleurothallis restrepioides in bloom?

I have been growing this plant of Pleuro restrepioides for more than four years now. It was already flowering size when I bought it, so it’s been four years without any flower. The plant has been growing well, has formed a nice bush, but didn’t give a single flower all this time long. I have tried everything as far as fertilization, light, watering, ventilation is concerned, but nothing seems to trigger the flowering mechanism. Every year it’s the same thing, new stems grow well, the little spathes appear and my hopes grow high. Then, the photo flick below shows what happens: instead of flowers… plantlets form. I have always been getting plantlets instead of flowers…
Has someone experience with this plant?
Any thoughts on what am I doing wrong? Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

Rosim,

I get plantlets all the time, too, but I also get blooming regularly in the winter.

I feed year round, but the average daytime temperature does drop from the 80's F to the 60's in winter.

It's more or less the same here, with daytime temps dropping from the 75-80's F to the 45-50's F in our winter. I am doing the same, feeding year round (the last two years).
I have a friend who has the same problem as I, so I'm glad to know that this thing blooms for someone at least :-) ! Thanks for your lines, Ray.

Hello, Mauro!

I have not been around to this forum in a long time. No reason - just been busy and spending less time on the internet. I see you have joined since my last visit. Very nice to see you here!

Sorry, no help on the Pleurothallis restrepioides.

Vincent (AOS Forum)

I was given a plantlet 2 months ago and it's already started producing another plantlet! Do I leave it as it is? or do I pot it up seperately? Please? It's a pleuro but I've lost the label.
