I think a lot of fungicides do not use sulfur.
Organic fungicides do.

In Iceland all the hot tap water smells like sulfur and I bathed at the Blue Lagoon natural pool with hot sulfur water. It dries your skin. They say it is beneficial.

Sulfur
(from "A Pesticide Information Project of Cooperative Extension Offices of Cornell University, Michigan State University, Oregon State University, and University of California at Davis. Major support and funding was provided by the USDA/Extension Service/National Agricultural Pesticide Impact Assessment Program. ")

"Sulfur is known to be of low toxicity, and poses very little if any risk to human and animal health (1, 8). Short-term studies show that sulfur is of very low acute oral toxicity and does not irritate the skin (it has been placed in EPA Toxicity Category IV, the least toxic category, for these effects). Sulfur also is not a skin sensitizer. However, it can cause some eye irritation, dermal toxicity and inhalation hazards (8). "

Seems like buying a good sulphur based antifungal will do the trick. Thanks all for your positive feedback. Have a great Christmas and New Year.

I bought a can of garden sulfur (powder) at the local gardening store and use it whenever I have a bit of fungal problem. It has never hurt a plant and from my studies is one of the more safe and benign ways to treat fungus problems.

I bought 2 outside of NYC (here I could not as easily find it). I think Bonide here sells a mix of Sulfur and Copper powder, but I hear Copper is more dangerous. I grow inside my apt and I do not want anything too toxic. Sulfur powder can be mixed with water and apply it with a brush or dilute it more and apply it with a sprayer. It leaves some residue on the plan that can be eventually washed off. I read that sulfur is also effective against Spider Mites, which is good.

I just sprinkle a bit of the powder wherever I need it, including in the root area. It doesn't look so nice on the plant, but if its going to a show or something, it easily rinses off. And I only dust it on those getting spots or if the bulb looks to start rotting etc.

FWIW, Copper Sulfate Pentahydrate is the active ingredient in Phyton 27. If using Phyton 27, be sure to read the handling precautions and wear rubber gloves while adding it to water to dilute. You don't want to get the undiluted stuff on your skin.
