umm ... but if you turn the plant around, the opposite side becomes the left side ... ?

How many other lefties out there can say the same ?

All my phals are south-facing, so light direction is not a factor
the first spike is always on the left . Subsequent spikes may alternate

Have a great
Only when I hold my hands up the right hand makes an "L." We need some clearer instructions here. I have some difficulty getting behind my plant as well when it's on the windowsill or in my orchidarium.

I wouldn't necessarily say they lean left, I'm guessing they are more like the majority of the politically uninterested. My orchids are probably moderates.

What sort of orchid would be ultra right? One of the really superb Phalaenopsis amabilis?

the comparison was to people. How do people know if they are left or right handed ? ( ambidextrous persons not included in this survey ) If someone stands behind you ( not face-to-face), and you hold up your left hand, then that person would say that you were holding up your left hand !!!!!!!!!!
Phals grown naturally ( not under lights ) tend to grow towards the light, whatever the compass aspect ( N,S,W,E or NW, NE, SW, SE.........) So with this in mind you should be able to tell what your orchid is !!!!
Geez people !!! rofl
( if you are still having a problem, then maybe posting on a forum is not a solution )
