What to do About Deposits on Leaves from Greenhouse Fogger?
In the past I had problems with mite infestations. I added two humidifiers to my 15X20 greenhouse. Problem solved. Now what do I do about the deposits on the leaves and flowers. Will a filter on the water source for the humidifier do it or do I have to install a small reverse osmosis unit. I think the depoits are calcium carbonate and/or silica from my well water, but I don't know for sure. Any experience or advice for me? Thanks.

invest on a large rain collector bin from Home Depot(Sam's Club also have this) and use rain water instead...wait; I dont know your growing area or your location in the USA so I cant accurately advice you...if you have rains at all or snow by this time of year
well water can have residue but its not killing your plants...collect it in a large container and let it sit and settle for a day before you use it to water your plants...filtering and reverse osmosis might be quite expensive...

I would try some filters first. You can get a 20u filter and 5u filter very inexpensively.
If that were not satisfactory, you could go on to and R/O system.

I bought a stock tank to catch the rain water then use a submersible pump to move it into trash cans with lids .Don't forget the mosquito dunks the dunks also stop fungus gnats .. Gin

The men in our society swear by CLR to remove mineral deposits from leaves. I've never done it (not that courageous), but when they display their plants, the leaves are spotless.

Lemon juice from the bottle or fresh squeezed works just wonders and leaves the the leaves shiny and clean and they smell good, too! Use it full strength. You can also use very dilute white vinegar, but that smells....

I used straight vinegar once..... worked but just about killed the plant!!! I would make sure to give a good rinse after.

Keithrs, as I mentioned, dilute vinegar. I would expect full strength, it might do some damage...
