Neglect for sad orchids?

I find the greatest problem can be flowering a plant, then getting the growth cycle to kick back in; this can be especially so with podded plants. I lost a nice piece of Cuitlauzina this way, & is, I have noticed, a problem with Paphs. Anyone else noticed this trend?

I have experienced this quite often! It's actually something of a running joke between me and my mom...whenever I go on vacation and leave my plants with her I invariably come home to new growths and buds. She swears that she does nothing special to them and in fact barely remembers to water them!
