Default Forum projects?

Hi everyone

I have seen that you have had at least 3 forum projects were you raise the same species. We are planing to start the same type of project on a swedish forum and I wonder what misstakes we should avoid if there are any!
And then I wonder what species you have had?

Magnus,

I haven't been able to participate in the previous three projects, but I am signed up to do this fourth one.

For more information click here. This contains the following details of the previous projects, among other information:

Project 1 - Phal lobbii - Andy's Orchids-
5 participants in 2 countries

Project 2 - Angcm scottianum - Oak Hill Gardens -
approximately 19 members in 3 countries

Project 3 - Paph venustum - Parkside Orchids -
approximately 26 members in 5 countries

Hopefully one of the previous participants can sum up any pitfalls that you might want to be aware of.

One thing I can tell you is that we always choose an intermediate grower, that is not too big. The reason for this is because it gives almost everyone participating a fair chance at growing the orchid. If the plant is too large, the participant might not have room for it also. So we limit our choices to moderately sized intermediates. I think thats the most important thing to watch out for.

Hi Magnus...
another thing to think about is how the project gets organized. You can have everybody contribute their ideas in one thread but you'll need somebody with the ability to go into a closed thread and make changes to keep all those people and ideas organized in one place.
Without that option, the threads would become very confusing and very very hard to track.

If you need any help, let me know.
