Default Keiki to safe an orchid

Hello all,

In one thread i was talking about a healthy orchid with small beats running around and was almost impossible to kill them until i tried malathion that has kill the orchid, from 9 leafs it has only half and dying left ..but it has a small keiki(a leaf in one branch) that i do not know why is growing..and i was wondering if the last leaf of the orchid dies, the keiki can replace the leaf for the photosintesis etc... and help the plant to make a new real leafn and start growing again?

Does your keiki have any roots?
Can you post a picture?

Also what type of orchids it is?? Once we see a picture it will be much more helpful. But in the meantime if you know the genera just tell us and we can go from there.
