Depends on how you what to grow it and what's available over there in Latvia. I just repotted my phrag. I went with higromite in about 3/4" of ro water. It was in aaa moss in a hanging basket.... It had ok root system but it did start to spike. Alot of people like small coco.

Thanks for answers.
Kelo - thank for the link.
keithrs - I grow my other phrags in different pots and mediums.
Some like clay pots, some - plastic.
I was just wandering what kind of mix to prepare as this one is the only one besseae hyb I have.

I purchased a phrag Eric young last year, in spike. It was in hydrotron (LECA), in a regular plastic pot (not semi hydro). I water every day and keep it in a saucer of water (feet wet). It's spiked again this year already, and it's on flower number 6 from the same spike. For a while it was holding 2 flowers at the same time. The new fan is growing like a weed, so it seems pretty happy. I have no other orchids in hydrotron, but the phrag Eric young seems to like it.

I'm not sure how you grow yours-semi hydro or just potted like paph.

Both of those species love water!!!

I would go with Higromite, Hydroton, or a 50/50 mix in a tray of water.... Thats just me!

What ever you decide.... Happy Growing
