I have a question in regards to misters and foggers. To my understanding, foggers are for providing humidity only, is that correct? Would it be to much to use both a fogger and a mister in an orchidarium? Is one better to have then the other, or is that a bad question since they serve different purposes, although I would assume a mister provides humidity as well. Sorry for the beginner questions, I am just trying to sort out the equipment in my head and what they do. TIA!

I think it all depends on the size and frequency of use. A mister can bring your humidity up (especially a Mist King mister with the fine spray its lets out) for a few hours or less. A fogger continously humidifies yes???(Im not sure). So if you run a mist system for only half a minute once a day, a fogger would be needed for the rest of the day. Why do that? Because a mister wets everything while a fogger won't necessarily.

Are you referring to a purchased Orchidarium? If so, it will probably come with some method of advancing the humidity and you probably won't need anything. I only use the misting system I have because the plants I have need constant moisture (don't want to dry out too much) I don't use it as the source of humidity (although it certainly does that.) I have an ultra-sonic fogger and it didn't seem to do anything worth while. It was expensive for a sit-on-the-shelf addition and didn't up the humidity for me. In an Orchidarium that may be different. Who knows
