I've read in the past that certain algae and other plants have their photosynthesis shaped almost like a bell curve. So that high light levels, such as too much direct sunlight, actually will inhibit photosynthesis.
I was wondering if this occurs with orchids????
The reason I ask is that I acclimated all of my orchids to full sun last year to keep them in one group outside. The very frequent misting helped keep them from burning. A good number of my orchids don't require more than just bright light.
So I was wondering if I inhibited growth by doing the direct sun exposure, but they seemed to have grown just fine.
