Does anyone know who I bloom this sucker???? I've had it forever and the darn thing won't bloom. GRRRRRR! I'm ready to throw it in the garbage because I probably won't be able to sell it at our monthly meeting anyways. Things that aren't in bloom tend to not be sold.

Teresa what are you doing now with it?

Mine sits under a 32 watt CFL and kept fairly moist without that typical drying out that some catts like. Becuz even if you do get it too bloom for ya (Which you will) bud blasting will happen to it, if this 'chid is allowed to go too dry inbetween waterings.

I have mine out by the pool, which means full Florida sun with 20% shading from the screening. It's in aliflor and gets heavily misted (wet) every day.

Don't give up...you'll get it!

Mine is under my big HID light with my Catt's & Den's. It's growing great has two buds on it now , I'll post pic's when it blooms, same conditions as Lctna. Chandana Delight. I posted last week. It likes bright light and moist conditions. Hope this helps. Jim.

It's directly under my flourescent lights...like half a foot if that. Maybe my problem is that I don't keep it wet enough? I just transplanted it into sphagnum and a clay pot. I do know that I have problems with black tips on new leaves and such so I don't even use fert for it as I assume that was the culprit. This one seems tricky. *sigh*

Instead of answering the question, I will add to the confusion. I have two seedlings in 3" pots that are both about 6" tall. They stay evenly moist in spahg and perlite and they have grown like weeds since I got them in Dec. One has four new growths. But......how big must they get to bloom?

Jerry,

It was the 4th bulb that seemed to be the number. However it wasn't til it got the the 7th bulb it would stop blasting on me and finally bloom. I felt like tossin it out at 1 point

Teresa, that's when I figured out it was me,

I need to keep it moist if I wanted to see those blooms appear.
Tricky? Sure, Until you figure out what they're needs are. Then it sweet sailing, well hopefully anyways

Yeah I kinda figured.... But I have so many plants with "needs" it's tough to keep track!

I don't think I will anticipate any flowers until next year. One plant put out four new pseudobulbs at one time that are still growing but it only has a total of about seven. I am going to expect flowers on the next set of new growth. Hope I am right.

C.Lace can bloom up too 3 times per year. Also, they can bloom very shorty after the bulb has grown out. So they're is some good news
