Default EZ-Flo, does it work and how to mix concentrate

Hello.

I am looking to get rid of the Hozon syphon and I am looking at the EZ Flo. I read the information and I am using 15-5-15 fert and I can't understand the information about mixing. The unit I am looking has a 3 gallon capacity and it mixes at 1:100, 1:250, 1:500 and 1:1000. I figured that I need 1/2 teaspoon per gal to get around 100ppm of nitrogen. So, if I use the 1:100, I would need 50 teaspoons in the tank correct per gal?

I know that I am making thiss too hard than what it needs to be

I don't really know about such things but I've tried Ray's calculator for you and that comes out with 53 teaspoons per gallon, which is a bit more than 3 times what you had calculated..

Ray recomends 125ppm which comes out at 66 teaspoons per gallon.

Take a look at Ray's calculator here. You enter the ratio (1:100), the target ppm and the Nitrogen figure (15 in your fertiliser). It's the calculator at the bottom of the page I've linked to rather than the other one which is for manual mixing.

It's a real easy calculation:

(desired amount per volume to be delivered)
x (reduction ratio)
___________________________________
(amount to be mixed per volume of concentrate)

I'd think trice about an EZ_Flo, though:

They work just like a hose-end contraption - pushing a little bit of water into the mix tank to push an equal volume of concentrate out into the watering stream. Unfortunately, that results in the "concentrate" becoming more-and-more dilute as you use it.

Their first designs were for use in turf management applications in which the entire tank will be applied to the same, broad area of grass. If you apply it more-concentrated at first, then less later, the area gets the full "x-pounds per y-acres" so who cares? For us, it would have to be used with an application system that watered every pot at the same time, equally - overhead drench or drip-tubes.

What's really frustrating to me is that by simply adding a flexible bladder to separate the incoming water from the concentrate, they would have the ideal device. Yeah, you'd have to drain the water before refilling...so what?

Ray, what would you suggest? I'm not sure if I want to spend alot of money for a filtration system for a small greenroom.
