Illinois Orchid Society Show

I attended the IOS Show this past weekend. The show is held at the Chicago Botanic Garden in Glencoe, Il. The show was great. The vendors were numerous. And, the Gardens are beautiful, even now! What a wonderful venue for an orchid show! And I only brought a few plants that I preordered from Ecuagenera. The some of plants were much larger than I expected; all were in very good condition. They had some very exotic stuff all bare root at, I guess, reasonable prices. No pictures cuz I'm not a picture person at shows.

There were 2 others on my list but because of CITES they couldn't deliver them; L. dowiana and L. trifoliata

I have another question about my purchase. All of the plants were bare root. So I have planted them up in bark/CHC. Do I wait until I see some new growth before watering or water lightly or what? I want to be as successful at re-establishing these plants as possible.

I've never bought bare root but I'm entering this thread hoping to learn.

I'm envious! Iwas all ready to go and the "check engine light" came on in my car. Glencoe, Il is about 40 miles from me...would've been my first show!!
