Hi everyone!

I brought my big beautiful peristeria elata home today and I wanted to see if anyone else has had experience with these plants.

I've read everything I can find on the internet about these orchids, but I wanted to ask for some advice with people who have had first-hand experience.

P. elatas have a dry season where they shouldn't be watered. We're currently in that season in Florida, but I'm a little leery of giving it no water at ALL. Have any of you watered during its dry season? How much did your plants get?

Watering tips and any other tips would be wonderful!

Thank you

Whoops!!!! I watered mine all winter and it looks OK. I think I killed my first one by not watering it enough. It will soon be time to take all my orchids out of the GH so I'll get a better look at everything.
