I've ordered or I won 2 plants from Thailand on eBay and after 2 weeks I received an empty box with stickers all over saying they have gotten confiscated at the dept agricultural. After that I contacted the vendor and he promised to send my money back so I told him I would have rather have the plants so he said I could just pay for the shipping (which was the more expensive) and he would send the plants. I told h ok and for him to send me an invoice. After waiting for an answer for awhile he said he couldn't send me an invoice but he was going to send me the plants first Ok I said and that was the last time I have heard from him. He disappeared from eBay and I had to contact eBay to get my money back. Got partial the money back. That was my nightmare story! Never again!

Let's see....Orchid rots on shelf at port of entry, IRS agents knocks on your door, Customs official requests some "get-to-know" time, multiple wire-transfers to the US Treasury, Lawyers, Meet the Warden.

Orchids are addicting; this better be one amazing flower!

As far as the topic of this thread, I have done this a few times. Once, my order was confiscated and of those I've actually received, I've had about a 50/50 survival rate. After reading this thread, however, I won't be doing this in the future.
Oh its worth alot! Thank you!

Its a desperate thing to want the plant so much that I would make last ditch efforts to attain that species.

I am ecstatic to get one of theirs. though I want to wait it out as they said they werent established. An unestablished henrici is not an easy thing and would rather them take the issue of getting them growing.

THANK YOU AGAIN!

Whew! I thought we were all going to have to go visit you in "the big house"!

Oh so much better to wait and know the plant is legit.
