Spiranthes Floridana - Wow! What a find.

Here in SW Ga it has been extrememly hot & dry. No grass cutting for weeks. Low 'n' behold I found a "Spiranthes Floridana" growing in my yard. It is a native orchid growing here in SW Georgia. The spikes are about 8-10",flowers white which spiral around the top half of the spike My mentor with orchids (93 years young) looked it up in an orchid encyclopedia to show me. Cool. How about the foliage? Got any shots of the plant itself?

Charles in sunny Fla. No pics of the foilage. Burried in the grass. However, my friend said he cleaned aroun the plant and saw two small oval leaves. He is going to try to dig and put into a pot in hopes it will survive. We keep you posted.
