I need a bark that matches the following parameters......
1. MUST be deeply grooved.
2. has to be extremely resistant to fungus, molds, moisture etc.
It's going to be in very controlled terrarium conditions, very high humidity, misted and fogged frequently. General conditions are going to be very "swampy"
I have no experience with those exact conditions, hopefully someone will respond who does. My first thought would be cork chips or cork bark which does not hold water and will last for a long time. Monterey pine bark (also known as Orchiata) will last longer than fir but it still eventually breaks down.I would avoid fir bark or coconut which both absorb moisture and break down pretty fast in my experience. How about inorganic medium like lava rock?
