The coconut orchid is very popular because of its strong scent like a pina colada. It blooms in March.
However, it is interesting in several other ways.
It grows up as well as spreading sideways. It does not show any roots on the upward growth like other orchid keiki but under the tan sarong are roots that will grow all the way down into the medium.
It can be divided like other orchids and the single bulbs can be removed like other keiki.
