Do you know if the phytohormones in it are heat stable?
After reading the article, I'm going to start drinking it myself- many health benefits.
I briefly looked it through, so I have to reread it to see if the report says they are or not.

But as far as what I understand it to be, these phytohormones appear to be heat stable. They seem to work in tissue culture even after they're heated.

No pina colada ice cream? That's my favorite.

Wow -- really good information! I only ever used the fish fertilizer on the orchids when they were outside for the summer (and I haven't used it for years -- even on the garden -- because my wife complained about the smell).

Maybe being out in the sun and rain (and the more frequent watering they usually get in the summer outside) helped avoid problems. Good to know for future reference. Thanks!

So if I have several plants that I am trying to rescue. They have lost most of their roots. I have repotted them and used a bit of rooting hormone about 3 or 4 weeks and there seems to be no change or improvement. Are you saying diluted coconut milk might get some growth happening?? I'll run right out and get some if that's the case. And should I spray the whole plant or just water the roots and maybe the pseudobulbs??

Default hi

Hi I will suggest you spray the whole plant.
You have to keep three things in mind while trying to rescue orchid.
You have to keep keep them moist not soggy, good air flow and ambient light.
An antifungal spray will come handy as humidity is also loved by fungus.

All the best and hope u are lucky.

Speaking of rescued plants - if this isn't veering off the thread too much (tell me where else to go if it is, please)...I rescued one Phal. with what I guess was crown rot. It had one greenish root, I repotted with chips, and have been spray-watering ever since. There are new green roots going into the chips. But now the two bottom leaves are getting soft and I know they'll turn yellow and come away.
Same thing with another Phal. Suddenly the two bottom leaves are yellowing fast and will come away soon. Also spray watered.
Now I have learned that spraying should be done in the dark (these are away from artificial lights) and on the backs of the leaves. Question: Should I spray the surface of the chips and the roots that are showing, too, and should I spray every night or less - and how less? Appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

I have always been told not to water at night, your chances of fungus (crown rot) are increased when the plant stays wet all night.
I pot water mine only, the leaves only get wet on accident or when it rains.
Not sure how often you should water since it only has one root left. Maybe one of the other members can help with this?
