hi all
I have 2 plants labelled "coelogyne ovalis" (I think one isn't, but will have to wait and see).
One started to spike 3 weeks ago, since then the 2 spikes have aborted, but the plant has made 2 new spikes on different growth. The other plant (sits about a foot from Plant no.1) is the same age and atm has a green tip showing that could be a spike.
Since it is still summer here, I thought it may be too early for ovalis to be spiking? Should they be forming spikes in summer? Could the heat (3 days over 39 deg. celcius) have caused them to abort?
Just curious. Thanks guys
