Default Trip to Chiapas Mexico 09

These are the pictures I took when I took a trip to t southern mexico. They are situated in the state of chiapas where there are temperate regions, rain forest reagions ect.

In the Lagunas de Montebello National park there were orchids everywhere!!!!!!!!!!! There were trees that you could only see orchids and bromeliads. I even got to see a stanhopea growing in the wild.

I hope you enjoy them:

Beautiful photos, I liked the Stelis sp., what looks like a Pleurothallis brighamii (the one with the front view), and the other unknown Plths (the one with the side view).

Trip to Chiapas Mexico 09
Default excellent slide show

I enjoyed your photos of Chiapas orchids and envy your getting a chance to do that trip. Actually I spend much of my year on the coast of Sonora fishing and boating and just returned from the Alamos area where I saw wild orchids being used in landscaping. This has stirred my old interest in orchids (been dormant for over 20 years) and I am interested in visiting areas to see and photograph orchids, as well as lepidoptera, in Mexico. We are just starting to expand our explorations from the coast, so are really excited about what we are seeing. We may go to the Creel/Copper Canyon area next month.
Thanks for sharing your photos.
