Genetics are odd...! I would cross that plant with P. micranthum again and see what happens. It is absolutely gorgeous, whatever it may be!!

weird, those leave show less micranthum than the flower... I think I would admit here the possibility of a mislabelled plant... are all 3 shown plants from the same original source?

I would expect the leaves to be perhaps a bit darker, and have a little purple pigmentation underneath if micranthum were one of the parents.

sorry, accidents occur even if they were good vendors. the entire flask might have been mislabelled and mix up. I would predict this one to be a maudiae cross with a complex hybrid (like a bulldog)

Good point, there is no micranthum in that plant or very little. I didn't really think about it but I think you have it right.

Thanks for all your comments. Yes, it may well be mislabeled. I will check to see if I see anything similar at the upcoming Japan Grand Prix International Orchid Festival at Tokyo Dome in a couple of weeks' time, and report back if I find anything.
