Default keiki catt!

My Eplc Volcano Trick has grown this keiki which I posted several weeks ago. As you can see it has grown taller and put out several roots. So two questions for you experts: best way (detail...detail...detail) to remove it from its current location and are the roots sufficient to support future growth? I know the usual rule of thumb with phals is 3 roots 3".

Good grief, that little buggar has grown! Looks like it could make it its own, but I'd be scared to death to ruin it. Good luck, Howard.

It really grew fast! Looks ready to go out in the great big world on its own now. If it were mine, I would be tempted to remove it the way I remove Den kingianum keikis. Either I twist them off (but sometimes damage it quite bad, so probably not a good idea for yours) or cut it off very carefully with a sharp scalpel blade.

I think I would wait untill the new leaf and Pbulb are more mature before I took it off.

Just what I would do ...LOL no expert but I would want it finished with that lead so it had some energy reserves for the move onto its own.

I'd treat it like a reed stem Epidendrum that threw out a kheiki...

Leave it on. When it's truly big enough, it'll easily peel off witout any damage. Just be mindful of the aerial roots. They can dry out quickly if the humidity is low. I misted the aerial roots on a reed stem Epi NOID kheiki I'm growing while it was on the mother plant to make sure the roots were good by the time it was ready to be removed.

Epc's have Epidendrums in them, so...there you go.
