Default michigan state university fertilizer

I went to a speaking with the lady that was the person that put michigan state university fertilizer on the market and she said that you should use michigan state university fertilizer every watering unless in a winter period of rest. I was just woundering if you could use the michigan state university fertilizer as a foliar feed if used at half the ratio?

I use MSU blend in RO water with every fertilizing, winter and summer. Orchids don't absorb much through their leaves and also, certain kinds object to leaf spraying (Brassia and Oncidiums for a couple suggestions.) I mix mine to 125ppm nitrogen concentration as per Fertilizer PPM Calculator

I mainly grow Bulbo's and medium to small Cattleyas and there relitives and grow under a 1000 watt metal halide in a 8ft x5ft area i grow my potted plants in dyna rock that is like lime stone chips and my mounted plants in moss. I water ,meaning flushing them once a week then everyday go in there and make it like it just rain and i have no problem with rot because of the nice fan that moves the air in there and they seam to like it .

Was that Jan Stryzen? (I think that's how it is spelled).

Actually Bill Argo, PhD (MSU alumnus) created the formulas based upon plant nutrition studies, and tested it at his alma mater with Jan's help - she's the "orchid curator" there. The product is manufactured for, and wholesaled by Blackmore Company, Bill's employer.

It is designed to be used at a concentration of 125 ppm N at every watering (discounting plants that need a rest), and at that concentration tends to be self-flushing to a great extent.

I have been using it for coming up on 6 years, and have never done a plain water flush.
