To all UK growers and worldwide growers, what should i get from Burnham Nurseries?
Hello i might be going to Burnham Nurseries in the next month or so (depending what happens on the farm) and i was wondering if any of the UK growers or anyone that has been there (i have been there but i only go about 2 times a year..........................wish i live a little closer!!!!) and what orchids you have bought from them and what you would recommend that i should get when i go, i manly like species but i do like a nice NAMED hybrid (i have spent hours and hours looking for the names of some my hybrids and i have only found one..........................meh), i have a very varied collection (a miss-match of what i like and the random plants i can grow well be them hardy or not) and i like any orchid and if it grows i happy and if it starts to look unhappy i lave having a challenge!! And putting my own twist on growing them (i will put a list up of what i have at the moment ..................that have names i can find and the labels)

If you have not been to Burnham Nurseries YOU MUST GO one day it is amazing and the staff are just the nicest people in the world!! And very helpful (i think i am just a little bit bias but i love it there!!!) and they have LOTS of orchids and types of orchids (DER) but the lay out and rest is just brill!!

Oooh, I've looked at them on-line and thought they looked a good place but have never been.

In the spring Hubby suggested a weekend trip down there (it's a long way for me too) but then we got hit by the recession and were avoiding spending. Things have picked up a bit so we must think about going again some time.

Can't advise on the plants I'm afraid. I'm only just venturing away from Phals myself.

Which is hoping to reintroduce some of the UK Orchids back into the wild. Which is nice!

As for which one to choose from Burnham Nurseries... Mmmm... Suggestion: which ever one makes 'you' drool the most

It's hard to advise on what plants to get without knowing your growing conditions. It depends on how much light you have, the temperature and so on. Is the list below plants you actually have, or is it a list of plants available at the nursery?

the list below is the plants hat i have at the moment, i keep them (not the hardy orchids) in a south facing conservatory that is heated and has cool areas, the amount and strength of light can be managed and sorted, good humidity and god air movement.

in addition to these corrections, all hybrid names should begin with a capital letter, and all species names should not.

After a long look at the plants on offer, two really caught my eye (well a lot more than two but I barely narrowed it down)

From Hybrids: Burrageara Nelly Isler. Just a fabulous Red.

From Species: Dendrobium pieradii. The photo just made it look so ghostly, if it looks as good as that in real life brilliant.

That's my drool selection suggestion.
