Nanodes (Epi.) porpax in Hot Climate? (South Florida)
Nanodes porpax (or Epi. porpax, or even Neolehmannia porpax) is one of my favorite orchids, but I have lots of trouble with it. I live in South Florida and have my plants outside, and everything low elevation, warm growing does fine. But porpax seems to at least be Intermediate, if not cool growing, and my plants of porpax just seem to languish.
Anyone have any luck with porpax in hot climates, low elevation outdoors? I was thinking of bringing mine in at night into the 75F (24C) heavily air conditioned house on warm nights - they are small, but I'm afraid the low humidity would be worse for them than the heat.
I will break down and set up a terrarium if I have to, I just wondered if anyone has any tips for cooler growing orchids outdoors in hot climates.
