I don't have any more bark left. Would CHC hold too much moisture?

Not at all Marilyn. Mine have all been repotted into fine CHC/perlite/charc, and doing great. I find I still have to water every other day. All but one are blooming, growing new roots and new leaves. They seem to really appreciate the new media.

Thanks, quiltergal. Now I can mix my media in a large container, and when I get my pots, I can go to work. I'm excited about starting.

Thanks to all of you great people who have answered my post. I appreciate your advice. Now wish me luck in keeping them alive. This is a new venture for me, trying to grow Masdevallia.
