I missed it again :-( - Orchid Board

Everytime this orchid blooms, I miss it! The blooms are so miniscule, I never notice them until its too late. I was inspecting plants today for potential insect control, and found that it had already bloomed (behind my back) with about 6-7 spikes! Wahhhhh!
Its a leafless type, Chiloschista lunifera. The roots photosynthesize and the spikes arise directly from the root mass (so I read) and it seems true. I've had it about 3-4 years, it has almost doubles in mass since I got it.
Can anyone recommend other leafless plants that are easily located and the source? I rarely see any at all.

Darn! Remind me never to get that orchid.

It looks as if you have a few spikes that will bloom in a matter of weeks... the flowers, I think, are pretty long-lived... set this one aside or remember to check up on it soon...

Well Pat that's just plain weird...I was just listening to "The Grand Conjuration" today! I absolutely love that song.
Do you have the Blackwater Park CD? My tattoo artist loves Opeth too, last time I sat for her for 2 1/2 hours and we went through the entire Blackwater Park CD, and a CD by Everytime I Die, and Mastedon as well....good music to tattoo by, all I can say!

Actually those spikes have already bloomed, I am pretty certain (wahhhhh.....) I have only seen this orchid in bloom once since I got it.

That almost looks like one of those ghost orchids....and it would seem they are appropriately named, LOL!

I've tried to play it on guitar, but to no avail. The effects and distortion are near impossible to replicate, and the rythm is hard to remember with all those sudden stops and completely different riffs...

I think the spike furthest to the right has yet to bloom, and possibly the one furthest left that curves back inward. That's a really healthy plant!
