That's one big reason I've been put off the website yours came from. They advertise their Phals as 2 or 3 spike, it seems to me that if they have enough 3 spike ones to be advertising that on their website there is a good chance of getting one with a terminal spike.

Well, I can give a good store to find Phals.

Well ... at least in Belgium. The IKEA stores always have very nice and healthy Phals/Dendr/Milt plants at a reasonable price (I pay 10 € at the saturday market in Bruges for 1, at IKEA I only have to pay 7 € for a similar plant)

(If you're lucky you'll find some nice ones, you can see on their site when new ones arrive (when the stock gets bigger) they usually unpack them in the morning).

I don't know how the IKEA-Phals are in the UK but if I'm right they should come from the Netherlands too. At the checkout you can pack them really good in paper so they won't get a shock from the temperature difference. That's the way I get them from there to home using the tram, train and bus.

(This reminds me I have to go to the IKEA next week, X-mas collection will be in store by then. Oh and I'm quite sure I'll come home with 1 ... or 2 new Phals. Probably won't be able to resist )

Some IKEA-phals (all 7 €, 6.5 £, 13 $, the Miltoniopsis was slightly more)

They will be NOID 99% of the time but to me the first thing that matters is how the flower looks like

Ontopic: I've send them the same e-mail over today stating that it's been 2 weeks without they sending me a reply.

Anthony,
Your picture entitled "unidentified #13" appears to be Phal. Minho Princess.
There are two variations of this Phal.
One is P. Minho Princess 'Flying' and the second one is, P. Minho Princess 'Watercolor Artist'.
You would have to have these two plants side by side to see any difference.

Al
