I just received my copy of OW 6.0, and Alex has really outdone himself this time, adding a journal, so not only can you look them up, you can keep track of your own plants, too.

What is the advantage of having this software, as an amateur, like myself? What does it offer/do? I have never seen it, but heard musings about it and seen the offers for it. Just wondering, thanks.

Vanessa, it's a great program if you like knowing the background of your chids. It's very detailed and now that I have it, I can't imagine not having it...but...it is rather expensive.

Do a search here at OB for Orchidwiz, we've had a number of conversations about it. You'll get a number of opinions rather than just mine

By the way, Ray...you are so right! Alex has done a great job with this one.

I'm looking forward to the next update already so all of those unregistered chids and NOIDs that are here can be entered into my journal.

The 6.01 update has done a tremendous amount with the journal allowing you to added unlisted plants, and keep track of just about anything you would want to. It added NZ awards and will add pictures for them in the next upgrade. Also all names and awards are updated through June 09.

It is an excellent program. Very useful for looking up crosses and name of orchids registered. Very useful for breeders and growers. I like it very much.
