I normally have as many as I can fit outside in the trees, on the plant stands on the poles installed in my pool enclosure, on the wrought iron plant tree, on the driftwood projects, on the shepard hooks and table. I leave enough room to have lunch. Somewhere around 200. Looks all normal to me
Almost forgot...I have several in the ground too!!! There is still more room in 2 gardens

You people have no self-control!! Tsk Tsk! I'm thinking I'm the only normal person on this forum.
I've been growing for probably 15 years and I only have one cattleya....the other 200 belong to my cats!
Oh and Bird used to have one, but she ate it!
Good thing somebody here is sane.

I have about 100 orchids. My husband has a collection of 5 b-body wagons, so he's less normal than I We've run out of space for wagons. We still have a ton of space for the orchids since I'm keeping them outdoors, although it might become a problem when a hurricane comes.

Size is a big factor. I know someone with over 100 orchids that live in a very large aquarium. That's not my style. I'm of the sort the even if you build a greenhouse, it will never be large enough. Orchids are like kids, they grow up and grow bigger. My database says I have about 1400 different orchids with multiples of many and flats of seedlings and compots. which probably totals about 3000 or so individual plants. I do have space problems when a flat of seedlings grow to flowering size before I can cull them. It's a hobby that's gotten out of control. I have a very tolerant wife. But then I don't say anything about skeins of yarn, crossstitch thread and fabrics.

OMG...how do you manage to look after them all???? Do you grow in a greenhouse with timed waterings etc??? I have approx 200 (scared to count) and it's like a jungle in here and it takes me about 1 1/2 hour to water everything. Summer is much easier for me as I can keep them outside and spray away if no rain. I think everyone has to have some addiction or other....ours is pretty harmless in comparison to many others!

You could always fill up the wagons to bring your guys in when the (H) shows up Mine all fit inside. Tried it out when we had the cold spell earlier this year. You sure couldn't tell how many there since the stands held more than I expected.
