Smile cymbidium orchid

I am new to orchid growing....my husband bought me a beautiful cymbidium and now my flowers are turning brown/black ..... i ahve watered moderately like it said. what am i doing wrong? do i cut the blooms? Please help!!!

I am assuming that this is the same orchid question you posted on the Beginner Forum. As was stated by Ray in answer to that question, it is quite normal for flowers on a plant blooming at Mother's Day to begin to brown and fall off a month later.

As to the care of your plant, visit the cultural section on the Forum for answers to most beginner questions.

As stated, most any orchid has its blooming season. Now is the time to make sure it grows nicely so it has new growths to bloom from next go 'round. The OB will help, look around and ask away.
