It sounds like she expects it, but isn't thrilled about it all at the same time. I would by a few while you can....and you should get her something as well while you are at it....something that she likes if it isn't orchids....lol....that would score some points...lol.

Buy, buy, and buy! Then tell her the truth, that they reminded you of her....very beautiful! And they were on sale to boot! That would work for me!

I agree with Becca, she expects it, is resigned to the fact, but not thrilled.
Now if it was me, with something I'm resigned to my hubby buying, I would actually feel really guilty if he then didn't because he realised I was not thrilled about it.
So buy some, she's resigned to it anyway.

I would take that as a green light BUT, get her something really special. A "just 'cause I love you gift". Those are always fun anyway.

My hubby collects electronic bits and pieces, I'm resigned to that, so he can't say anything about my orchids or the occasional piece of jewelery. He goes OOH ooh over his bits when they arrive, and proceeds to tell me (imo, useless) info on them. I do the same to him when my purchases arrive, and he most likely feels the same way I did (yeah okay, can I go back to my plants/bits now depending on which ones of us is doing the lookit dance).
