Default Vanda started dying from the top.

This is my Vanda Brunnea x tessellata x Kultana Fragrant which I got last year. I noticed that leaves around the old spikes are dying. It almost looks like rotting. On the other hand, there are 4 keikis growing at the bottom ( one with a seedling size ). I am not sure what to do now.

Should I cut the infected section off? If so, do I need to put something on the area so that the infection does not go through to the lower part?

I appreciate your input.
