Question Buying From Oak Hill Gardens

Hi Everyone,

I was just wondering if anybody here has bought any orchids from Oak Hill Gardens? If you have, were you happy with the quality of the plants you received?

I'm thinking of placing an order with them and I want to make sure they are a good company.

Hi Shannon, I just ordered and received 3 plants from Oak Hill as part of the OB Project. I haven't checked the roots yet, but they seem healthy. The packing was great and they came 2 days after I ordered them. I would have no hesitation about ordering from them again.

I have purchased many plants from them. The plants are first quality and I've never had a problem. I plan to visit them in June.

Ross, you sure are getting around in your "old" age!!! First a swamp in Florida and now the BIG CITY... all the way from Cadillac!!!! WOW!!!! You know if you postpone your trip til Septermber, you can do the Chicagoland tour!!!!! Maybe we could get the Florida crowd to join us???? Sue, I know how hard it would be for you to drag yourself away from that swimming pool....but I know you can do it!

My first order from Oak Hill all had root problems. Two of the three got better after repotting, and the third they replaced without hesitation. They are very nice people to do business with. My second order from them should be here today. I think my problem last year was an isolated incident.

For the most part a pretty good company to order from. I like getting plants from them because it's affordable.

I think that it's important to check the roots of any plant you get regardless of where you get them from. You gotta remember that they're large nurseries, and sometimes things fall through the cracks.
