Don't be tempted with buying any Orchids or any other plants from Thailand via eBay. I get fooled all the time since I'm not expecting to see them listed since I normally choose US Only in my searches. But, it still does not keep them all out. There is plenty to buy here in the US and even places that actually do business here regularly like Ecuagenera.
I buy on eBay a good bit and have almost always been happy with what I receive. So, in my opinion it's not different than shopping online for anything.
