Question My sick/dying Phal needs some help!

I have this phal in bloom right now, but no leaves on her. As they all fell off.
After they fell, she started to spike, and and now blooming.

Is she going to be ok, after she's done blooming?
Or shall I take her off her home?
She the top one on pic.

Jackie,

I would cut the spikes and hope for a new basal growth.
Don't throw in the towel just yet

Or you could try some of those keiki formulas. Without any leaves for photosynthesis I wouldn’t wait too long to see what happens.

I had a similar question in another post located here:http://www.orchidboard.com/community...8&goto=newpost

My situation is similar except I still have leaves on mine, but the crown is completely dead. One flower spike that just keeps growing and growing, but producing no kei-keis.

My question is this: If you have a flower spike, should you leave it and hope for kei-keis on the spike? If you cut the spike off - what if you never get a basal growth? Then it will be doomed. Which is the best route to go?

Wow, that phal looks like a ghost orchid, since it doesn't have any leaves! With so many nice healthy roots, the plant is bound to make a basal keiki soon. It doesn't have a choice if it wants to survive. How long has it been leafless?

Ethan, I would suspect a basal growth would be the best choice. Theres no leaves on mother to support the keiki.

I'm with Gloria, I would cut and hope for a basal growth.

Best of luck!

Thanks everyone!!! She does have very healthy roots.
She's been 'naked' for about 2-3 months now.
I'll wait for the flowers to fall, and cut down the spike, and see what happens.
Thanks!!!

I am new and don't know anything about anything, but I think i read here that the roots can preform photosynthesis as well, so isn't it good it has healthy roots?
