Default calcium and magnesium supplements

I recently purchased some ground oyster shells for calcium supplementation for my paphs and was wondering if there are other orchids which would benefit from added calcium.

Same question regarding magnesium (Epsom Salts) diluted in water. I've used it to help orchids with yellowing leaves but wonder if there is any additional need for magnesium as a supplement and which orchids could use the supplementation.

Thanks

Utah

First q:
Phrags like ground oyster, in the mix and on the surface of the media.
Alfredo Manrique Owner of Centro de Jardineria Manrique uses eggshells and crushed granite stones for his Kovachii; link:
Phragmipedium kovachii.com [PK culture]

Second q:
Follow the link and read second paragraph:
January In Your Orchid Collection

Martin Motes tells more in his book about adding epsom salts and potassium nitrate.

Hope this helps,

I use "Cal-Mag" on a monthly basis as part of my fertilizer program. I do think orchids do need trace elements other than those in say a regular 20-20-20. I beleive my plants are healthier and produce better flowers. I have a four week plan whereas I alternate adding K-L-N, S.T.E.M., Cal-Mag, to my regular feeding of 20-20-20 then the 4th week a straight water flush.
Works for me.

I use Cal-Mag Plus and Epsom salts in every feeding (for all my orchids), added to the fertilizer....they love it!
