Thanks, MoogieMama, for the kind welcome. Yes, first post, just expanding my horizons to include more computer literacy, and I am already learning more than I thought I would. Forums like this are great places to learn things from people who have the same interests and of course, many of the same questions and/or solutions. What other forums were you participating in to get answers?

Orchid Pro is about $16-$20 for a quart, and Orchid Champion is $36.95 for a liter, which is a little less than a quart, so, more expensive, twice as much, basically. Of course, if it works, it is worth it, and I can't speak to that about Orchid Champion. I can, however, say that I know firsthand that Orchid Pro works, and is less expensive, so, that's what I use. Another thing, Orchid Pro specifically INCLUDES many types of bacteria as part of the complete microbiology package. According to TurfPro, the bacteria and all the other microbiology are a significant part of what makes Orchid Pro so good for your plants. Healthy soil contains Millions of bacteria, I am sure you have heard of the Soil Food Web and all. Finally, according to the company (I asked, since I don;t want to get this wrong), Orchid Pro is 100% all natural, and you can use it in combination with whatever you want. As we all know, orchids are very delicate creatures, but, all of the TurfPro products, especially Orchid Pro basically cannot be overapplied. If you use too much, you are wasting it, but, it won't harm your plants. Hope that was helpful, best of luck with your growing.

Well the only way to find out may be to just try both together. I am not good with chemicals and supplements. I guess I could call the company and tell them what I am wanting to use it with and see what they have to say. Thanks!

I am in the process of placing an order as well! I also ordered the Orchid Champion product...I wonder how these two products will perform if the orchids are mounted and not in a pot with medium? Would I use the products more often for mounted orchids?

Wow! Such glowing recommendations! I will also need to order this product to see if it works. I never did get any responses to my questions on the other gardening site, so am happy to find that someone here has had good results.

I am thinking that mounted orchids would perform well. With the holidays over, I will have more time to focus on all my plants and dream of warmer days.

Thanks for all the information! - Lynn

I read an article about Orchid Champion on this forum not too long ago. I am familiar with Orchid Champion and have used it. it is not a supplement or fertilizer but is kind of a "media cleanser" and enhances fertilizer uptake I believe. It is similar to a product called Hygrozyme that hydroponic growers use. I'd like more info on the Orchid Pro formula, ie NPK ratios and if urea is in it.

Bob: I was very glad to see your follow up, and that you "loved your Orchid Pro". I always feel a little apprehension when I recommend something to someone, especially when I know people care as much as I do about my Orchids. That is why it took me so long to try it myself, even though I THOROUGHLY TRUSTED my friend who recommended it to me! So glad you found it to be a great product like I have. I hope word continues to get out, they are a little company and I want them to be successful and be around a long time so I can buy product. I also just think they are genuinely nice people, I have called and emailed them a number of times, and I always find them pleasant and responsive. Thanks for your feedback to this board!
