Would you mind giving a bit more detail? Such as what kind of wire and the gauge. Technique? Maybe even a demo?

I would just like to add that Home Depot has small rolls of the wire that is green plastic coated and it would be quite subdued.

So Don, I'm assuming the 'pressure' between the blooms holds the wire in place?

Do you also have knowledge of wiring or staking phals so the arc? Isn't it the Japanese that wire them like that?

Debs - Yes, you are correct the pressure between the blooms hold the wire in place. I have another method of holding drooping flowers in a more upright position for better viewing. By use the same wire and bamboo stakes. Guess I will have to take some pics. to show what I mean. Going out of town next week but perhaps when I return. As far a phals go, I guess some Japanese do wire their flowers but I usually wait until buds are formed along the stem, then using a bamboo stake in center (sort of) and then wire or clip the spike only about half way or just below first bud and the weight of the other flowers will arch the branch over to one side. I will also try to post pic. so keep an eye for my post.
