Dendrobium Question

I got this Den at a BB store several months ago for a steal so I bought 2 of them. One is in spike and I've posted before. The other grew out this funny looking leave and I thought it was a "terminal" leave and that was that for plant #2.....didn't feel too bad since I had the other healthy plant. Now I see what I believe is a spike...... So what gives?????

Sure looks like a spike growing out of that funky leaf! I've had leaves like that form on some of my orchids, but with no ill-effects. Congrats that yours formed a flower spike!
