WHAT??!! Did you find that Monster Green Grasshopper on your chids this morning??

I only ask, as a friend of mine just told me yesterday that a HUGE 3" or so, Green Grasshopper is eating all of her BUDS on her Chids!!

I wonder if this is the same species??

This is a Katydid, and I don't know what they eat. I wonder if they are considered pests? Anyway, they are the noisy critters you hear at night.

I saw on another board that a kaydid destroyed some of their vandas and layed weird disk shaped eggs everywhere--- eeeps.... I'd try to get them out of there as soon as you can, even though they are pretty they wont love your orchids ....

Those are great pictures and the paph is lovely.

I didn't find anything in researching the katydid that said it ate orchids, specifically. But, I didn't find anything that said they don't eat orchids, either.

They eat plants. Yikes!! Orchids are plants!!! I'd relocate that bug, for sure!!!!
