WHAT??!! Did you find that Monster Green Grasshopper on your chids this morning??
I only ask, as a friend of mine just told me yesterday that a HUGE 3" or so, Green Grasshopper is eating all of her BUDS on her Chids!!
I wonder if this is the same species??

This is a Katydid, and I don't know what they eat. I wonder if they are considered pests? Anyway, they are the noisy critters you hear at night.

I saw on another board that a kaydid destroyed some of their vandas and layed weird disk shaped eggs everywhere--- eeeps.... I'd try to get them out of there as soon as you can, even though they are pretty they wont love your orchids ....  |

Those are great pictures and the paph is lovely.
I didn't find anything in researching the katydid that said it ate orchids, specifically. But, I didn't find anything that said they don't eat orchids, either.
They eat plants. Yikes!! Orchids are plants!!! I'd relocate that bug, for sure!!!!
