100 in a flask. I have no experience with flasks to really say, but isn't there any concern of being overcrowded and then having to take them out of the flask when they are as Steve said TINY, which to me would mean a very low survival rate

I also bought one of the "larger than normal" ghosts. A few days after arrival, I noticed there were tiny snails in the plant. When I unwrapped it I thought it fell apart into several pieces, I guess that there were more than one larger plant. Anyway a few of the pieces dried and died. I'm fiinally starting to see some evidence of life on other pieces. I'm hoping for the best.

Im guessing that the 100 plant flasks will need to be replated rather than 'potted' into comm pots. Swamper, I also found a website that details how to take ghosts out of flask. The website is: http://personalpages.bellsouth.net/f...qanda.html#Q21 Im not sure if you will have scroll down or not, but if you do you will need to go to question #21. Hope this helps!

Here are pictures of my ghost. Remember that it broke into several pieces when I unwrapped the fishing line so that I could get rid of the snails.
Basically the set-up that I'm using is a small covered fishtank. I tied a thick layer of sphagnum onto a piece of cork and put it on an angle, then I just rested the ghost pieces on the moss. There is about an inch of water in the tank and I've placed additional sphagnum from the bottom up onto the cork to incur a wicking action. Lighting is 2 full spectrum 100W (equivalent) cfl's. If you look at the secod picture you can see new growth (bright green) on 2 pieces. I'm hopeful that the plant lives and starts to grow.

The last one I kept that wet, died. The ones I have now (peices like yours) were in about 50% Fla. sunlight, hanging over a tray of water. They were looking duller in color every day, and not so healthy. A friend of mine told me they like high light, like a Vanda! I couldn't bring myself to try it, until about a week ago. I must say, I'm pleasantly surprised....I hung three of them outside on my V. sanderiana, where they get direct Florida sun from about 2pm-sunset. I placed one in direct sun (with a piece of screen wrapped around it, one on the side of the basket (where it gets direct sun at intervals between shade from Vanda leaves), and one in direct sun. It has been over a week that they have been out there, and they look healthier every day. I simply water them in the morning and afternoon, with my Vandas, and fertilize twice a week, and all three seem to be loving it! Personally, I am shocked! Just thought I'd share this, here's some pics:

I am so glad to see several people interrested in the ghost. Atter looking through all the info. I can find looks like most people have success on wire mounts placed in containers like plastic bottles and such. Some seem to have good luck outside in the open air! As for myself two of the small pieces are still looking rather well. They are on moss like the ones in the tank. I am very careful not to let them lay in the water or get too wet. It is hard when you start off with the messes some of us got for plants. I am currently waiting on orders from Oak Hill and a new place the guy say's he has 3 1/2 year old established plants for 35.00 u.s. If this is the case I will post his site for everyone. I want to be sure first, also will get some pic.s up so we can look at them together.
