I think that that must just be your conditions
I've never heard of it having a dormancy here, but i guess its warmer here.

I was just about to say that!
My cuprea has been in bloom since i got it, its smell is strange but weak, and the flowers and plant are small, but its intricate and has nice colours.

I have heard many people in equatorial climates that have them bloom year round. I think I am just north of that line, because all my butterfly orchids have a short dormancy (1-2 months).

My Phragmipedium Calurum has been flowering continuously since September 5th. I bought it in bud at Hausermann's August sale. It has more buds coming along and sometimes has three blooms at once. Needless to say, I love this one! Carol

My Oncidium "Sweet Sugar" has always either had blooms, and spikes following right after. It may be only a week before the new spike opens up after the old one died.

AND, it does this all year round. Even during our brutal summers, and in winter too.

The only time I didn't have a flower or spike on it was when I repotted it. So big deal, it took 3 weeks for new spikes to come out.

Also, I bought it 18 months ago in a 4" plastic pot. It's in a 8" clay pot now (recent repot) and has four spikes coming up.

And when I tell ya that yellow pops, I really mean it.

for me my everblooming orchid is arundina graminifolia. my plant flowers everyday, and its not actually big plant. only about 20-30 stems there i think. the flowers last about a day or two, and everyday i will have about 2-3 papery cattleya like flowers. its easy to care too, no need much care but still thrive in my full tropical sun. in some places they are weeds
