You guys in florida sure have fun - I'm lucky if I get a toad in the compost heap, and some frogs in the pond - never in the green house . And as for more sunshine - I in Britain have a question - what is sunshine ?

You'll never guess what I got in my greenhouse......not frogs. A Red-shouldered hawk!! And I do not live out in the country, but at the beach ! I was tending to my orchids in the greenhouse and had the door open while I was there, and SWISH!, in came a hawk, hit my fan with its talons, and then flew back out! Auuuggghhhh!

I haven't seen any birds in my greenhouse except house wrens and they just love to peck all of the growing medium out of the pots. I do not have a red-shouldered but there is a red-tailed hawk that visits the trees preying on collar dove.
Hedge, I have had a lot of experience with your English type weather so I know what it is like. I lived in Bremen, Germany on the North Sea for three years where sunshine always came in the liquid form.

We had some this morning just for an hour or two! Then this afternoon we had the heaviest rain I have ever seen, the office window looked like someone was holding a massive power-shower right up close to it.

The flower situation is improving and I have finally had a chance to play around with our digital camera (the really clear photo). I will start making a point of adding more photos as things continue to bloom.

Aaron, what is the name of your Vanda? I just recently posted a pic of Vanda Robert's Delight that looks identical to your picture.

I believe that is Vanda Sanderiana x Dr. Anek. It was an orphan I took in and had no name but someone at my orchid society has one that looked identical to mine and that's the name.
