Have you got your orchids in a "green"house? maybe thats the problem.....green, like leaves. I wonder if they have a rainbowhouse, or maybe a flowerhouse? Hee hee hee

Mimiortega,
If you have them inside your house, probally only your ohals and lady slippers will bloom. Everyone is just as easy yet they want to be outside. Now you can push them out on a porch where they are getting full sun up to 11am and after that they will not get any more light....as it's gone over the patio top.....they will always bloom!
Happy Growing and sounds like it is a light problem. Please write back with more details. I can not even see what part of the country that you are from.
If we all at OrchidBoard are to help we need more info.
Or if poossible, send us a picture of the plant, or plants that you are mentioning of the place of where it is growing.

This thread was absolutely HILARioUS - aaron you made my day!
I've discovered that threatening will work wonders. Dangle them by a root over the composter or even better, the lawn mower...that'll get them kicking out blooms for ya

I'm no expert either, but the only thing I can think of is your chids are "SPOILED" yes "SPOILED". And because of the overflowing attention they receive from you, they don't feel the need to please you. Threaten them, tell them you're going to have them adopted or give them away to your friend....it may work or it may not...he he.

Something is attacking my vanda!!!
Please help!! My Vanda has some sort of tumor or fungus or parasite attacking it!!! It is light green and knobby and seems to have attached itseld to the stem between two leaves. It looks like some sort of larva or an egg casing from some sort of sea creature. I've posted a picture below. Please tell me how I treat this strange malady!

I finally broke down and bought some orchids with flowers on them. Since I know how much you all love pictures, here are pictures of my new Mtssa. Pelican Lake 'Everglades' and V. sansai. I also picked up a V. Pat's Delight Blue, a Den. Emma White, and a Den. Love Memory Flt' (all for under $50). The last three are still little guys but that just means that I get to start breaking down their psyches early. I am hoping this will make a huge difference in the long run.
The last photo is my first flower from my new night blooming orchid cactus. Which is not an orchid but has "orchid" in it's name and so I thought you all might like it.
Thank-you to whomever suggested I cheat and buy some orchids with flowers on them. It has definitely reminded me why I go through all the trouble.

You treat it like a Vanda flower spike because that is what it is.
