I have never used it, but the claims at HygroZyme make me wonder if it's not "snake oil".

For one, it appears to be an enzyme mix intended to decompose residual proteins that can lead to illness of the plants. What proteins? In orchid potting medium or are they talking about on the roots - in which case your whole culture is in need of an upgrade, not a band-aid additive.

Secondly, they are claiming the product has a specific gravity near zero! Considering pure water has a sp. gr of 1, I suspect the producer is either an idiot, or the bottle must contain air!

Enough of the jabbing.

I have heard that it is good stuff in closed-loop hydroponic systems, as there can be buildup of chemicals detrimental to the plants in culture, and this helps decompose them. I really think it's unnecessary in pot culture.
