Post your outdoor setups
I'm trying to figure out a good outdoor growing setup, and I'd love to see some examples. My biggest concern is figuring out a way to keep plants from getting knocked over by the wind.

Hey Tony,
Here's my outdoor set-up, for a small number of pleiones and alpines, and local tree seedlings and such. There is a cold frame for harsher weather protection. And the bench has a canopy so I can drape a tarp over it when it rains.

Hey, thanks Marco,
the coldframe contents vary a lot, right now sleepy pleiones and mini hostas, seedling red maples, a gentian, and a mountain sandwort.

He-he...the lanai is the porch area in the back of the house with the pool cage attached. makes it like being outdoors without actually being in the intense heat and not as many bugs |

Your main concern should be a northeasterly wind being in Palm Beach. If you got a taste of the last few days winds being on the east coast this weekend they were coming out of the north northeast up to 30 mph, this weekend should have been a good barometer as to which area's are protect. A simple tissue on a stick placed in a pot and stragically placed will help you determine which area's will be the most protected.
Your home surrounded by trees? or is it one built within a community where trees are few and far between, hopefully a few trees will warrant great protection for you.

Here are a few pics of my shaderoom. The first few are after construction and the last one is full of orchids. It is basically a pergola with shadecloth on top and hanging down one side for the afternoon sun.
