If you guys are hesitant to use systemic insecticides due to kids, pets, etc, i suggest enstar II. It isn't actually toxic to anything more evolved than a crab. It interrupts the molting cycle of chitinous arthropods, but is benign to vertebrates.
It does cost a pretty penny, but from experience, it works. For me, with my cats who like to sleep in the GH and lizards and such that live in the GH, I'd rather go with something that isn't directly toxic, unless you happen to have 6 appendages and an exoskeleton.
